For the week of 1.23-1.29
Here are a few of the top trending songs/sounds on Instagram at the moment. When you make reels this week, these are trending up so now’s the time to use the sound. Then, keep reading for a tip of the week you can implement right away on Instagram.
Top Trending Songs/Sounds
- Ben Rector – The internet isn’t real life: *NOTE: this trending sound has fewer than 300 videos–at the time I’m writing this–so jump on board ASAP to get some good traction.* This audio was originally posted by @huntersofhappiness and it’s a perfect way to poke fun at IG vs. Reality. I saw people going from and overly filtered video to #nofilter, a cute puppy playing to the roll of toilet paper the puppy has spread through the house, but I love where people show a video of their home (perfectly tidied and sparkling) vs. a regular day/what their house normally looks like. It’s such a great reminder and way to show that what you see isn’t what you get. So use this to show something that is typical (outtakes from photo shoots, dropping a charcuterie board, holding a perfect cup of coffee with a video of you then spilling the coffee). Truly, this is an easy one and it will definitely add some relatable content to your feed!
- example to check out: @presidentialdesignco shows her perfectly clean kitchen and then pans back to show a kid in a chair, a table covered in stuff, counters covered, etc. It’s really cute and this account has fewer than 9K followers and this reel has over 400K views! 😮
- Original audio by @this.orifice: “No question about it, I am ready to get hurt again.” Nothing like a good old Michael Scott quote from “The Office”. This could not be more perfect for the real estate market right now. Buyer’s Agents: Sitting in your car about to go into a showing, you could have a text box saying, “how I feel when I’m showing my buyers their 10th house when our first 9 offers got rejected…” or you could say, “how my buyers feel every time we find a new listing knowing their will be multiple offers but we look anyway…” It’s just an easy, quick reel to make that people who are in real estate or in the market will totally relate to.
- example to check out: @brittanybuono_realtor uses it to talk about showing 30 houses to people who decide to rent. Her reel has over 14K views and she has fewer than 3K followers.
- Original audio by: @kyygirl: This sound is just one line from the Julia Michaels song. There’s a good lead up and then the song plays, “cause I got issues”. This could be used for personal or real estate. I love the original audio where it says “my sister asking why I buy from Amazon every day”. You can use this for your personal coffee habit, something weird one of your kids or pets does. I just think it’s a fun way to infuse some of your personality on your feed!
Tip of the week
Start a consistent series on your stories, feed, video, or reels. Anything where people can see something consistent from you on a regular basis. I’ve seen some agents use a Friday to feature FAQs, home transformations, market tips, local businesses, and tons of other ideas. Find something that you know your audience is interested in (mine is daily polls for interior design) and then run with it. I do daily but you can start small and see how it goes.
I also encourage you to make content where you can tag someone (business owner, blogger, designer, home builder, photographer) because they’re more likely to share your content and then more eyes see it. If you’re doing an FAQ series and can’t tag someone every time, ask your preferred lender or contractor a question, tell them you want to feature them on xxxx day and then tag them. The main goal is to create something that people look forward to and then your next goal is to get as many eyes on it and your profile as possible. So, make content people want to save and/or share and I guarantee it will help you grow!
