SW: Hey girl, so why don’t you tell the Modern Agents a little bit about yourself.
CK: I am a Florida native, with deeper roots in the Atlanta area. As I moved around every few years as a child, visiting extended family in Atlanta frequently made the city more like an extended “home”. In fact, moving around so much really exposed me to the world of Real Estate. I am an FSU graduate with a degree in Education and Business. After changing majors half a dozen times from Accounting to Film, I realized I just wanted to learn everything which guided me towards an interest in education. I taught 4th and 5th grade for a few years in Tallahassee before taking a change of scenery and heading north to ATL to make ends meet by leasing luxury new construction apartments in the city. This turned into another nudge towards Real Estate, and I got my license in 2017 immediately jumping in head first. I have served clients in over 22 different towns within Metro Atlanta and love getting to know the city as intimately as anyone. In 2018, I joined forces with Stacey Wyatt and since then my husband, John, has now jumped ship at his old career and joined the Real Estate world in Project Management for our Construction and Renovation team. When not immersing ourselves in everything about houses, my husband and I can be found exploring the vast restaurant and wine scene in Atlanta or outside with our dogs Blue and Dakota.
SW: I obviously know your journey to real estate since you run our sales team and I love that you were exposed to it at a young age and kept coming back to it! Also, I’m with you on the food and wine scene in Atlanta, it’s next level! Ok, so we were already partnered up on our real estate team while at Keller Williams and prior to making the move to eXp… you didn’t have to make the move so why did you agree to come along?
CK: It was pretty much you, you told me it would be a good opportunity and I trusted you wholeheartedly. If you were wondering why I stayed, it would be because of the people. The eXp model supports a vast network of people who are incentivized to share and grow their neighbors, and it fosters a beautiful community of an abundance mindset that is infectious and unmatched.
SW: I love that. I know I can be “tactfully pushy” however I am glad you trusted me… you embody everything eXp stands for and you are already leading the next generation of Modern Agents. I am blessed to be in business with you! I love that our entire business is built on abundance. Now for a fun question, what’s your favorite room in any home?
CK: Can I say, outdoor living space? Anything that involves open air, lots of natural light, wood-burning fireplace, bar, grill, and a large TV for college football would suffice. When I look at properties for clients, I am always taking a long pause at the creative and aesthetic spaces people have created on their patio or porch.
SW: I couldn’t agree more, it is also my favorite! No one has said outdoors before and it can completely change the feel of a property. So now, tell me how you would define your personal home design style?
CK: I can lean a little eclectic but with a more modern-bohemian-southwestern flare. I think every room needs some black and some white, but with natural wood tones. I am always gravitating towards gold, whether on hardware or on the frame of a painting. If I were so lucky, I would purchase a home from the early 1900s. You likely won’t see the Kraft family purchasing new construction or anything that looks like the neighbor next door.
SW: Love that answer. And your style sounds amazing. You know I definitely love the black, white and wood. Perfect elements for every space! One more “work-ish” question and then I’ll let you go! What’s your favorite professional development book so we can leave our readers with a little homework? 😉
CK: Anyone who has exchanged a word with me knows I am a huge reader, both in personal development and fiction. I was recently introduced to the book Grit by Angela Duckworth. It perfectly defines how success is related to one’s perseverance and passion. It has helped me keep my focus and vision intact through all of life’s challenges.
SW: You know I love Grit and after what I saw you traverse both personally and professionally this past year, it is obvious you have a lot of it! Thank you so much Callie for taking the time, as always it was great to chat with you and I look forward to watching your continued success!
