Taylor is an amazing REALTOR® who recently joined my team of Modern Agents. She’s young and hungry and I’m so thrilled to have her on my team! Read below to learn more about her.
CR: Hi Taylor, tell me about yourself:
TH: My name is Taylor Hosemann! I’ve been a Realtor since September 2020. I graduated from the University of GA in December of 2019 (Go Dawgs!) and worked as a general manager of a gym. At the time, I thought my passion was to help people reach their fitness goals, but I quickly realized that it wasn’t just fitness goals I wanted my clients to achieve, I knew I could use my skills to help people achieve bigger goals…like purchasing and selling their biggest assets!
When COVID hit, everything slowed down and I watched the world shift. I knew I couldn’t depend on others for a paycheck and that I needed to build a business of my own. I quit my job, passed the real estate exam, and hit the ground running with about $300 in my bank account. Within my first week of having my license, I got my very first client under contract. I knew I had no other option than to make this business work, because I wasn’t going back to working for anyone else. Since then, I’ve sold close to $4 million in real estate and I am HOOKED on educating + serving people.
Personally, I live near Lake Lanier with my boyfriend and two fur babies. They are my world! In my free time, I enjoy spending time on the lake, spending time in the kitchen with my chef of a boyfriend, and enjoying a glass of Pinot Noir while I brainstorm for my business. I also host a podcast for other Realtors with one of my business partners, Kelly Rasmovich, called Cocktails & Contracts. We created this podcast to provide value, community, and knowledge to other young professionals, just like us.
Currently, I am working on building a short-term rental business alongside my real estate business. While being in the industry, I can see that real estate is one of the fastest ways to grow your wealth, and I want to utilize that for my future family while also creating unique spaces that people can retreat to. Our first short term rental should be up in running by early 2022 in the beautiful North GA mountains!
CR: That is so exciting! I love how much of yourself you have dedicated to this career and the fact that you were all-in from the start. It makes a huge difference and I’m really looking forward to watching you grow even more! Also, I can’t wait to see what you do with that mountain house! I’m beyond ready to book it for the spring!!
CR: Why did you choose eXp?
TH: To me, this industry has always been attractive because there is literally no limit to what you can do. The business model that eXp provides is essentially a no-brainer if you want to grow your income in multiple ways. While I can continue growing my personal real estate business, I can also help others grow theirs and be compensated for it at no cost to them, thanks to eXp.
But not only does eXp provide these financial benefits, it also provides a sense of community, which I didn’t find at a traditional brokerage. A lot of people don’t understand that, because it’s an online brokerage, but that’s the beauty of it. eXp allows you to grow a network of agents around you that are more interested in community than competition. In the end, it’s all about growing, learning, and providing value to REALTORS® all over the world.
I saw the opportunity that I could grow my business through eXp in ways that I never even imagined, and I simply could not turn it down.
CR: I love that you mention the different revenue streams but the community is the best part. In my experience, people don’t just open up and share their knowledge in the way that I’ve experienced with eXp and I’m so glad you’re a part of it.
CR: Alright, now for a few fun questions where we can learn a little more about you, personally.
What’s you favorite room in any house? What seems to catch your eye first and why?
TH: The kitchen is easily my favorite room in a home. To me, a kitchen provides a sense of comfort (maybe because I’m such a foodie). It’s where everyone comes together, whether it’s friends or family, to relax and unwind after a long day with a good dinner and glass of wine. It’s truly the centerpiece of a home.
CR: Ditto! This is so true, it’s the heart of the home and where we spend so much time at my house!
CR: How would you define your personal design style?
If you know me, you know I’m an extremely down to earth person. I feel like my personal design style reflects that. While I love bright and airy spaces, I also find myself gravitating towards a more moody, comfortable vibe as well. So somewhere in between those, I love the boho modern vibes. Give me a bright white room and I’ll add a moody rug with pops of darker colors, and accent pieces that are neutral and cozy.
CR: That sounds so cozy! Love your aesthetic.
CR: And finally, what’s your favorite professional development book? Let’s give some really good ideas for our readers to up their professional development game.
TH: This might be a basic answer from a REALTOR®, but I absolutely love Ryan Serhant’s Big Money Energy. If you’ve read this book, you understand that it’s not simply about money and getting wealthy. It’s essentially a book structured around Imposter Syndrome in the real estate world. This is something everyone in this industry, seemingly, struggles with.
It’s refreshing to read a story about a top producer, who literally started with nothing, and see how he realistically built his business from zero to millions. The book gives you actual actionable steps to take to start looking at yourself in a different light, and to stop doubting yourself and your abilities.
CR: That sounds really good, I love a book with action items!! Taylor, thank you so much for your time and I can’t wait to watch your growth and success over the coming years!
