For the week of September 26 – October 2

Here are a few of the top trending songs/sounds on Instagram at the moment. If you have time to make reels this week, these are a few that are trending up so now’s the time to use the sound. Then, keep reading for a tip of the week you can implement right away on Instagram.

Trending songs/sounds

• Original audio by @racheloveee— “I can’t go out (fake cough) I’m sick”–this is a perfect sound to use to “fake” a sick day. My favorites are where people are using it to say they can’t go out to stay home and do something totally self-serving (decorating with ALL the pumpkins, staying in for coffee, etc). For a real estate focus, you could use it to show yourself looking up comps, creating graphics, or putting together a buyer/seller guide.

• Original audio by @nitsanraiter–“people think I’m obsessed with this, but I’m okay with it, I am obsessed with it and um, this is an obsession that doesn’t hurt anyone”–possibilities here are endless. This is big on TikTok and trending on Reels. You could use just photos if you don’t want to make a video, you can show home tours, coffee, working, literally anything.
  • example to check out: @sistersofsavings (This one made me laugh, so serious about cupholders. Also, note–this got 150k views and they only have 1,545 followers!)
• Sunday Best by @surfacesmusic–a great song to use for anything that makes you feel good. New listing, closing, open house, under contract. This one has been trending for a while and no sign of slowing down.

Tip of the Week

Engage engage engage. This is the quickest and most effective way to build community on social media. My rule of thumb for people starting out is to comment on at least 5 posts a day, 4 words or more (not including emojis), and be genuine. Use their first name and comment something authentic (not real estate related). The more you engage, the more people will engage back and see your posts, stories, and reels. Also, reply to 5 stories a day. This gets you straight into someone’s DMs and you’re just reacting to something they’re sharing. No sales pitch, no asking for referrals, just a genuine comment.

Seriously, engagement and consistency are so imperative in social media. Show up for the people you follow and I promise they’ll do the same for you!
