CR: Hi, Alicia! So great to catch up with you, let’s start off with you telling our readers a little about yourself!
AM: Hi! I’m Alicia Maddox, Your Dream Home Matchmaker. I became a licensed Realtor in July 2020 but my career didn’t really start until August 14, 2020. That’s when I was let go from my corporate career and I said “Goodbye” to my 6 figure steady pay and “Hello” to an unknown future.
I always knew I was meant for more as I have a burning desire to make a real impact and help others. Thankfully, I found real estate and my entire life has changed. I now run my own business by helping others daily, replaced my 6 figure income, and truly know the sky’s the limit to my success.
While I love helping families reach their home goals through buying and selling real estate, I have an even deeper passion for helping other women break free from a job that they’re not happy with and find their fulfilling purpose in life.
My desire to help other women is one of the reasons I started a local happy hour group for women that are looking to connect with other entrepreneurial and passionate women. I’ve also teamed up with Christina Kabo Moore, another passionate REALTOR with my brokerage, to support new REALTORs or those looking to get into the industry. We go live every Tuesday on Instagram (@happyhour_home and @christinakabomoore) to connect, support, and give advice.
I’m always looking for ways to give back to the community so I keep my social media open to anyone who wants to reach out and connect. One of my favorite non-profits is The Ash Project whose sole purpose is to help women rediscover their confidence and I love that I’m able to give a piece of my commissions to this great organization!
I’m a deeply passionate person and pour my heart and soul into everything I do. But, when I’m not going on about my big goals to my family and friends I love to go to local coffee shops, events, happy hours, and boutiques. I especially love to take my dog Ralph with me!
CR: I love that! You’re so much fun and I love that you put everything into your community and give back. It’s the best! Next up, why did you choose to switch to eXp?
AM: Ok, first I have to point out I joined eXp right at 3 months ago and I recently hit my cap. It took me 11 months to accomplish this at the first brokerage I joined!
As I mentioned before, I’m really trying to make an impact and achieve big success. I saw the potential and opportunities eXp offers to help me make that happen. Since switching I really embraced what I want my brand to look like, how I want to run my business, and who I am as a REALTOR. It’s really paying off as my business has exploded and my past clients are even saying they notice a positive difference in my brand.
CR: That is so amazing! I’m so proud of you capping and I know that is just the best feeling! You’re on fire and I know you’re going to do big things! Let’s talk a little about home really quick, what’s your favorite room in any house?
AM: My favorite room in is the kitchen. The back deck/patio is a close second but in my opinion the kitchen is the heart and soul of the home. It’s where we make meals for our families, host our friends for happy hour, and most importantly it’s where all the snacks are.
CR: Love it! Yes, kitchens are where people gather and like you said…snacks 😍 One more question about home, what’s your personal home design style?
AM: Oh this is a good one! I would have to say it’s all black everything. I like a black exterior, black kitchen island, black accent wall, really anything could be black. I also extend my love for the color black into my personal style. Black leather is a staple in my wardrobe. If we ever run into each other the chances of me wearing all black are very high.
CR: I love some moody vibes in a home! If y’all run into Alicia, she’s in all black and if you run into me, I’m in all white! So funny how opposites attract. Finally, let’s send the readers off with a little professional development homework. Share with us your favorite book in that genre?
AM: I love to read and listen to books about personal development and growth. I really think personal development is the key to life. It’s hard to choose just one book so I’ll give you two of my favorites. One is by Maria Hatzistefanis and it’s titled How to be an Overnight Success. This book is the perfect example of a female entrepreneur that took a chance on herself and turned her dream into a mega brand along with tremendous success. The other book is Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill. This one is a must-read classic that will help you expand your mind and take action towards your goals.
CR: Those both sounds great and the one with the female entrepreneur sounds right up my alley! Thank you so much for taking the time to chat with me today, Alicia! I’m so happy you’re a part of the team and I can’t wait to watch your business grow!
