Trending Songs/Sounds
- Original Audio by @laughlovelombardo: Quote from Bridesmaids: “How many of those did you take? I took nine…I took nine, I did slightly overcommit.” This is really cute for anything that you may feel a little *extra* about or something that you feel like is a little overwhelming. I’ve seen some with people showing their Christmas trees, when they have a lot in their house, any decor you may be a little over the top with. Also, with real estate, you could show that you’re working on a lot of CMAs and in the caption talk about how you love them, but people are still looking to sell, or . I’m linking one to a photographer who did a great one where she “overshot” a session. Perfect example (even though you don’t have to lip sync).
- Original Audio by dr.m_____: The beginning of “Lucky” by Britney Spears. It seems fitting that since Britney’s free, this audio is trending! Use this for sarcasm. It’s perfect to show something that people brag about being “easy” when there’s actually a lot of behind the scenes, hard work involved. For real estate, you could have this in quotes “When a real estate agent says they work 10 hours a week from home and make enough money for their family” then the lyric plays “This is a story about a girl named Lucky”. In the caption you can share why this isn’t really realistic and explain what working your business really looks like.
- example to check out: @catherinewhitcher sharing about teacher shortages and someone saying their classroom hasn’t been affected. It’s an easy way to show that just because someone says that something works a certain way for them, it’s just not true for everyone.
- Original Audio by @nursemakala.k: I love this because it can be used for ANYTHING. It’s the iPhone sound of a message being typed and sent and then one being received. You just have to type the text onto the screen for the outgoing and incoming messages. The few I’ve seen are “Mom, can you come pick me up from _____ (school, hospital, work, etc) and the response is “no, you are the _____ (teacher, doctor, nurse, etc). So the point would be to show something kind of irritating and make fun of it. For real estate, you could make this about paperwork, offers, contracts…”Hey friend/significant other, can you come here so we can watch a movie and be lazy” response “don’t you have 3 offers to write? CMAs to do? Postcards to mail?” Any of these would work, with a little eyeroll. While a little snarky, it’s also funny, just be sure to keep it light and make sure you’re not really complaining, just showing that you’re putting in the work!
- example to check out: @raquel.geissler is doing paperwork to become a foster parent and she’s texting that she’s sending in the paperwork when the response says that they’ll send more over, showing that it seems like a never ending process.
Tip of the Week
Watch stories of the people you follow every day and genuinely respond to them. Try to get through as many as possible. Best practice is to spend 10-15 minutes a day (doesn’t matter when) going through them and replying or responding with an emoji. When you reply or respond to a story, that puts you right in that person’s DMs. So, say it’s someone you went to high school with and y’all follow each other. They just had a baby and you respond to their story congratulating them and telling them how happy you are for their family. You are now top of mind, that person will get a DM from you about their story and it may ring a bell that you’re a real estate agent and they, or someone they know, is thinking of moving, etc, etc. I promise, it’s time well spent and you’re much more likely to stay in touch with that person. Plus, you’ll show up in their feed more if you regularly respond to their stories. The IG algorithm will make the connection that y’all stay in touch and want to see each other’s content! Win win!
