For the week of 12.5-12.11
Here are a few of the top trending songs/sounds on Instagram at the moment. When you make reels this week, these are trending up so now’s the time to use the sound. Then, keep reading for a tip of the week you can implement right away on Instagram.
Trending Songs/Sounds
- This is Why We Can’t Have Nice Things by Taylor Swift: This song is perfect if you have kids or pets (or a spouse/partner who thinks they’re handy) to show what gets destroyed in your home, car, office, etc. Just an easy way to bring in one of your personal content pillars and show a little more about yourself/your life.
- example to check out: @msbolier is a middle school teacher and she’s showing things that her students have ruined like glue sticks and rulers. It’s cute and super easy, no lip syncing required.
- Original Audio by @mnc1522: “Are you kidding me, who said that you’re allowed to be this freaking cute?!” Great sound for your pets or kids, obviously. You could also use for a little Christmas tree or any of your Christmas decor. I also think that if you have a new listing or are showing a house, pop this sound over the cute porch, kitchen, living room, or even a little video walk-through. If you have a good home saved on your phone, even better! Pop the sound over it and done! Reel made!
- example to check out: @vertical_ledge is showing off their products and I thought it would be nice to see how it can be used for more than just a cute kid.
- Original Audio by @memes4marketers: “This is just a quick shoutout to anyone who comes in contact with me today, today is not the day and I am not the one.” I’ve loved this one for a while and figured since it’s still trending I might as well share it. It’s the perfect sound for one of those days, just one of THOSE days. You’re a little salty, your kid/pet/partner has been driving you insane and you still have so much to do. I think it’s great to show a little snark every now and then, keeping it real. I just think it’s funny and a perfect way to sum up how we all feel on those days where nothing is going great!
- example to check out: @danachanel who uses this for the Monday after Black Friday while they’re getting orders ready to be shipped. It’s just cute and I like how she used it!
Tip of the Week
Show your face in stories. Try to show up everyday if you can. If it’s not possible, then do it as often as you can and the consistency will pay off. I promise! You are your brand, people feel connected to respond and talk to you in DMs when they see your face everyday. You are coming into their home and talking to them (hopefully) about something that resonates with them, that’s why they follow you!
The more people see your face and hear you talking “to them” the more likely they are to respond to you. They feel a connection and then you’ll be building a relationship. Could be a future client, could be someone who has a referral, could be a potential vendor in the future. There’s no telling! But I’m telling you, this works. Being seen and talking in your stories is one of the easiest ways to make connections. Remember that people want to work with someone they know, like, and trust. Feeling like they’re catching up with you every day or every few days is just a simple way to connect you with your audience so when they think about real estate (or they’re favorite gluten free recipe), you’re top of mind!
This is the relationship building process that truly makes the social media marketing work for your business!
